I read a lot of fantasy. And I have to say, you write really wonderful fantasy. The pace, the imagery, the character development through dialogue!!! So good!
Songs are always tricky in prose. The closest I see anyone pulling them off is to instead write them as poems (like the second stanza in this chapter). It's a real challenge, one I'll have to face down the way when I finally get to a big scene in a future novel. Courageous of you to give it a try here.
